2 years, one post

yeah it's been 2 years since I last made a blog.

What's happened in 2 years you ask? Well, I've become 2 years older. Not necessarily 2 years wiser in any way.

I've kept my All Time Low interest, met them twice, and last week I saw them in concert twice too, one in Oslo and one in Norrköping, Sweden, at the Bråvalla Festival. Where I also saw quite a few other bands and artists, but that's not important.

Here's a video I shot at Bråvalla, front row.

Other that that, what have I done over the past 2 years? Well, I've got sort of a formal promotion at work, but I basically do the same job as I did when I went into this position 5 years ago. Only difference is that I now get paid to do my job.

We've been to the States 3 times since my last blog, twice to LA/NY/Vegas, once to Florida, and one of the trips we also went on a cruise to Mexico AND a day trip to Canada.

Had a couple of trips to London, and also a few other places, including Krakow in Poland, to see Auswich and Birkenau. Truly a place worth visiting for everybody who ever thought that what happened between 1940-1945 was worth forgetting. It's not.

So it's been eventful years, just not blogworthy.

I'll put a few random holiday shots in here at the bottom, just because I got a new hard disk yesterday, and Bjarte had put some old holiday pics on there.

Hope you enjoy!

Concert summer 2013

Hello!

So far 2013 have had its ups and downs, as life usually does.
Will not talk about work, because that's not blog-material in any way. For anybody particularly interested, send me a message, and I'll fill your head will all sorts, but it's not very entertaining.

What IS entertaining on the other hand, is getting to discover new things, have fun, see the world and listen to great music and cool bands. I can't say I'm a big music geek in any way, anybody who knows me can validate that.

But when I find stuff I like, I tend to listen to it until I know it by heart, and then some. In 1988 Smokie came to my home town, and I saw my first concert ever. Yeah, Smokie, you know.. Living next door to Alice-Smokie. At my little town, far up in the north of Norway.
My uncle had their LP, and me and my cousin kept listening to Living next door to Alice until you could see the wear and tear on the record. I was 12, guess that was expected from me at the time.

This summer on the other hand, I've been re-visiting my youth, and have seen Bon Jovi in concert for the 2nd time. Before that my man and me had a weekend in Oslo and saw Dara O'Briain's stand up show, pretty hilarious, if you ask me.

Then, 2 weeks ago or so, we went to Oslo (again, plenty of travel for us this year.. Oslo is a 1h 45min flight away), to see Green Day.
I've always liked Green Day, especially since American Idiot, but also their earlier stuff. I'd read that Kaizer Chiefs was to be their warm up, I didn't know anything about them, I always confuse them with Kaizers Orchestra, a Norwegian band.

But as I realized, they had another band first, All Time Low. I had never heard of them, but immediately I heard it was my kind of music. They were firecrackers on the stage, and I decided to remember the name, and search them up on Spotify once I got home.
Unfortunately it took about 3 days before my hearing was back to normal after the concert, but as soon as the tinnitus had worn off, I looked them up. And wasn't disappointed.
Ever since, that's all I've been listening to. Here's a sneak peak, as you see, they're goddamn funny too!

And tomorrow I'm off again, a new concert experience once more. This time I'm bringing my oldest niece with me to Gothenburg in Sweden, to see Robbie Williams, and to go to the Liseberg amusement park. She's super ready, so I hope she'll like the experience!

That's the last concert I've got planned for this year, that's a bit sad really. Hope there'll be more to come!

Being no spring chicken, my childhood pictures are a bit faded. But I managed to scan in a quite yellow 70'ies photos of us. Miss you mor! happy birthday, wherever you are.

One year, no blogging

It's been a blog free year, unintentional, but that's a fact. Guess my non-topic-blog never will make top gazillion even.. But that's ok. Stuff have happened of course, no big things, just life in general. Mostly working, a bit time off, a little bit traveling, have seen new coutries, and am collecting new countries too. Here is a view from my last new country: Albania (city: Saranda)

It was last august/september-ish, can't quite remember. Maybe I should start writing about my travels, guess that's an interest of mine. Last time I was abroad, I was in London, to see Robbie Williams in concert. Pretty cool concert..

I tried to photograph in concert, but didn't have many good shots. So here is the arena instead.

Things I have been spending my time on the last few months, is snow. But now it seems like winter finally is letting go. 2 weeks ago vs right now:

Hoping summer will come soon now!

When I am gone

In a few days now it's been a year since horrible things happened. I don't think I will need to specify.
Apparently the nearest days are jubilee for other passings too.
of course it is sad. Of course it's ok to grieve.
what isn't ok, is worshipping the grief instead of celebrating the life that was.

I wouldn't have wanted that. So, for now until as long as Blogger is in function, I have my living will here.
It is not about money, books, clothes or other valuables. But;
The day it's my time to go just remember, don't count the days I've been away. Celebrate the days I was around.
Yours Truly.

Embracing the days of our lives

This is a story about an odd couple.
They had nothing in common, except where they lived, and that they had the same grandparents. They both lived away from home, in a big city far far away.

She was quite a bit younger than him.
One day she had bought 2 tickets to a concert she had dreamt about seeing for years and years. She had to travel quite a bit to get to the arena, booked flights, a little, cheap hotel room, and looked very much forward to it. Because it was a famous artist, and she expected her friends to want to go too, she didn't even begin to worry about who would go with her.

The city was so far away that she had to bring a passport.
First she asked her best friend to go with her. Her friend didn't want to travel that far, because she had a little baby. She asked her other friend, she didn't want to go. She asked her co worker, she was getting married the weekend after, and couldn't. Time went, and nobody wanted to go with her to the amazing concert.

Then she thought, why not ask my cousin? So she did. He wanted to go!

He didn't have flight tickets to the city far far away, but had a van, and drove for hours and hours to join her. He didn't have a hotel room, so she let him borrow the top mattress of the tiny bed, so he could have a bit of roof over his head. The hotel room was so small that the mattress almost didn't fit the floor. But that was ok.

They went out to see the big big city, far far away. It was a lovely place. They had nice things to eat, and even went to an amusement park. The park was very green. And had lots of exciting rides. For hours and hours the odd couple went on almost all the rides. For so long that they nearly forgot to go to the great concert.

Night came, the concert started, and it truly was an amazing one. They both danced, they sang and smiled. Time went, and once the concert was over, he drove back home, for hours and hours and hours. She went back to the hotel and had a few days by herself in the big big city, far far away. But it was all a very nice memory, and stood in her heart forever.

Years went by, they grew up, and didn't see much of each other. Then one night she recieved a text from him, "want to meet the best person in the world?" So she went to meet him. He had found a girl he had fallen in love with, and was very happy. They had a few drinks, and had yet again, a lovely night. Next summer she found out that he had married the girl.

On to the year after that again, she was going to a free concert in a park in the city in which she lived. First she went for a meal at a burger place, and in line she saw a familiar face. It was her cousin. He didn't seem happy. But she didn't comment this, his wife was there, as was some other relatives. Again, concert was nice, but not as great as the one they saw in the city far far away.

Next she heard, he had gotten a divorce from the girl. And he was yet again happy. He started on a degree, and looked forward to getting a more stable job. He fell in love again. All was good.

Then he went with his new love on a short bank holiday break to her home area. He loved riding his bike. And went for a ride. The roads were high standards, but quite a few tunnels. He did all the right things. And didn't see the big red van. The van apparently didn't see him either. And when they found him, his soul was with the angels.

She was visiting his parents and siblings when the priest came and told them. And couldn't believe what had happened. All those nice memories, and now she was the only one to keep them in her heart forever.

Rest in peace dear Cousin.
